In a World of Deep Shadow a Light has Appeared.

“The people that walked in darkness, has seen a great light; on those who live in a land of deep shadow a light has shone” (Isaiah 9:1). These are the opening words of the first reading at Christmas Midnight Mass. We are experiencing the reality of that “darkness” and “deep shadow” today. Yet we proclaim in the midst of it all – “a light has shone”.
