The Scriptures are the bedrock of prayer, both liturgical and personal.  This module traces the use of the Bible across the centuries, examining such aspects as the Lectionary, the Liturgy of the Word, Sacramental Ritual and the Biblical basis for the Eucharistic prayers.  It will review the varied role of the Scriptures in private prayer, from lectio divina to imaginative contemplation, from the Hail Mary to the Stations of the Cross.  It will also explore ways of praying the Scriptures through art, music and literature, and the beautiful environment of Mount St. Anne’s.
